COURT BOOKING

The Committee has the right to pre-book court time for coaching, tournaments, matches, and social tennis activities.

The Coach has the right to book a court more than one week in advance.  When booking, the Coach must consider their timing to lessen the impact on members not taking part in the coaching.

The mini tennis/Pickleball court can be used at all times, except when a match involving all 3 other courts is in progress.

If a member needs to cancel a booking, the member must do so at the earliest convenience as a courtesy to other members.

SECURITY

Entry to the Club grounds will be via the main entrance, which will be locked when there are no members present.

Members, 16 years and older, can apply for a Master key which will open grounds, courts and Clubhouse.  Please turn the key three times to properly lock the clubhouse door.

Members under 16 years of age can gain access to the grounds and courts at any time (between 0900hrs-2200hrs) with a Courts/Grounds key.

On leaving the grounds please ensure the Clubhouse and unused courts are locked or check that someone who is still playing has a key to lock them, not everyone has a key!

Parents who are not themselves members, but whose children are junior members, can obtain a Master key for the  Club.  Parents are fully responsible for ensuring that Club Rules are maintained.

The cost of keys will be £20. Lost keys should be reported immediately to the Issuing Officer.

DROP IN LADIES TENNIS

All ladies are welcome to drop in on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10-12. It’s a chance to play and chat. A great place to start if you’re a new member.

SUPER LEAGUES   take place in Autumn and Spring.

These are open to senior members of all standards and also to junior team members.

What is Superleague?  Eight players get a game each night, with the normal format giving us two sets of men’s doubles and two sets of ladies doubles played simultaneously, and then two sets of mixed doubles played on each court.

It is very good fun, with 4 sets of tennis played. It is a great way to meet new members and hitting partners and to keep tennis going through the darker months.

Matches start at 7pm and can be on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night.

Anyone who can hold a racquet and maintain a rally is welcome to play.

Selection is arranged to balance the strength of teams and also recognise different player’s availability. Players can usually expect to play one game a week, on average.

Superleague was for most of us the entry to competitive tennis – a great way of finding out that it isn’t really that scary and the standard required in the Kilmacolm teams isn’t so very different from family or social tennis. It would be lovely to see some of our newer members taking part.
